Berserk in Berserkeley

Now that all the hubbub over my ambulatory status has subsided, it is time to recap my recent trip to Berkeley. I stayed in a fancy hotel that had an awesome toilet bowl I tried to dive into and a restaurant where I could work on my pouty face for the over-serious business men.

I got some new books, including this one. Dad thought it was a fitting choice - little does he know that my chattering has only just begun... I love reading while strolling around town so dad can stuff his face with food.

I got to see my friends Jennie and Sean. Here I am trying to impress Sean at a pizza place.

Now I'm back in Boulder and I've been busy helping mom with the weeding. Hello? Child labor laws?

Taking the first steps

Ladies and gentleman - I took my first steps today! That's right - I am now officially a toddler.

OK - it won't win any Oscars for cinematography, but mom was trying to film stealthily so as not to distract me. Make sure your volume is set down - mom got pretty excited. If dad wasn't so computer illiterate, he would put in a soundtrack (maybe "We are the Champions"?) to make it a true cinematic experience.

After all that hard work, I had to feed myself some spaghetti (carbo-loading!).

Then I had to go stand by the door, waiting for dad so I could show him my new skillz.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Last week I celebrated my first birthday. It was awesome. All sorts of friends and family were there. Here is Ada trying to teach Carter and me how to walk. Evidently walking makes it easier to steal toys.
It's not a b-day party if there isn't some pong! I love ping pong because it gives me numerous opportunities to say my favorite word, "BALL". BALLBALLBALLBALLBALLBALLBALL! When your vocabulary consists of 5 words (mom, dad, dog, ball, alligator), you have to use them as often as possible.

Here I am playing with Neva in the new sandbox that I got from G-ma and G-pa. I'm slowly learning that sand is not good to eat.

Showtime! My first birthday cake! This is great- you get to set things on fire and then eat lots of sugar. Mom made some awesome cupcakes and dad 'accidentally' bought re-light candles.
Score = mom 1, dad 0.

Actually, the frosting was the best part. All that chocolate kept me up late into the night.

Babies Gone Wild! - Spring Break 2011

Over 'spring' break, we returned to the depths of winter and spent a few days in the San Juan Mts. in southern Colorado. I got to hang out with my best friend Carter, dad got to go skiing (surprise, surprise), and mom recovered from a nasty cold (not easy when staying at over 10,000 feet).

Dad = sled dog. Mush, mush White Fang.

A sled is a great place for a nap -especially after crying all night and waking up everyone else in the hut.

Two peas in a pod...

After all that fun in the sun, I needed to relax with a frosty beverage (for those grandparents and concerned citizens in the audience - I should mention that the beer was empty - more or less).

Home on the Range

It's been nice and warm here so I get to go outside and do some grazing on the lawn (a.k.a the dirt pile).

Ummm, when will it stop being acceptable for my dad to post photos of my bare ass online? Someone please make it stop - these images are going to haunt me for the rest of my life.
I'm a regular comedian and a budding herpetologist. Here I am telling one of my favorite jokes "What do baby pythons play with? Rattle-snakes". Ba-dum, dum - thank you ladies and germs....
Thankfully this photo is black and white so you can't see that I've got a big green booger coming out of my nose. I've been sick a lot lately. Not fun.

Little Puppy

Dad is convinced that taking care of me is like taking care of a puppy. I'll take that as a compliment - I love puppies! Here I am showing off some of my dog-like skillz. Supposedly bad dogs eat trash.

Bad dogs also like to climb onto the dishwasher and look for sharp items to play with.

It is tough carrying things when crawling like a dog. Until mom and dad get me a fanny pack, I'll have to rely on my woodchuck teeth.
This is the new food bowl I inherited from Gunther - looks about right.

Stand and Deliver

I'm growing so fast and I love standing tall. Watch out WNBA, here I come!
