Tipping Buddha

Believe it or not, I was completely sober when these clips were filmed. I think the problem here is that my cheeks throw off my center of gravity.

The Heart of It All

After all the fun and excitement of traveling to southern Ohio, we finally made it to Grandma and Grandpa's house. There was a huge party for Aunt Lisa and Uncle Doug over the weekend so I got to meet the whole McKenzie clan for the first time. Mom and Dad forgot the camera so the only evidence that I got to meet lots of relatives are a few cellphone pics.

Hanging out with Grandma by the pool.
Sleeping soundly with my cousin Jasmine.
Crazy Uncle TJ shows me how to light a BBQ using a flamethrower. When I'm older I want my very own pistol-shaped BBQ/smoker. Maybe we can wheel it down to the Boulder Farmer's Market and grill up some tempeh.

Ah yes, a bit of relief from the heat and humidity in my very own swimming pool. One word: awesome.

Jet Setter

Someone once said: "Life is about the journey, not the destination". That someone has evidently not spent any time on airplanes in 2010. However, I did great on my first plane trip all the way to Ohio despite turbulence over Nebraska, crowded airports, and an emergency diaper change on the terminal floor.

The flashes from the cameras of the paparazzi were blinding my eyes as mom carried me off the plane onto the McKenzie clan homeland (i.e. Ohio). Oh, to be young and famous.....

Dad is using me as a human shield against over-anxious travellers. I think I was better behaved in the airport than dad - you didn't see me giving dirty looks to loud cellphone talkers.

I'm not even 4 months old and I've already learned so much. For example, here I'm in the process of learning that the trains at the Denver airport are annoying and the jingle they play only adds to this annoyance "[cowboy xylophone jingle].... The train is approaching...."

Fists of Fury

It is hot here in Colorado. I'm not a big fan of the heat, I get all sweaty and then the sweat mixes with barfed up milk, effectively gluing me to the sofa. Not pleasant.
My dad is going away with this weekend to a meeting in California. Hopefully it will cool down so I won't drive mom nuts over the weekend. I can't wait to experience this thing they call 'humidity' when we go to Ohio next week...

Two peas in a pod

Here is a picture of my mom when she was just a baby. Evidently this was found in something called a photo album, whatever that is...

In case you couldn't tell, I'm in the 2 pictures on the right. The resemblance is pretty striking. Mom was, and still is, very cute.

Happy camper

I went for my first camping trip to Rocky Mountain Natl. Park this past weekend. It was pretty sweet - I was in a great mood the whole time, even with mosquitoes buzzing in my face. I definitely like chillin' outside. Here is the 'home away from home'. Someone tell my dad that it would be a good idea to wash his stinky sleeping bag once a decade.

We did lots of hiking - it was awesome. When I get older, I'm going to miss getting carried around everywhere.

Now I'm back at home and I'm pissed. This place is boring.

lab rat

Today I got to spend some time in the lab. It was awesome (OK - it really wasn't that awesome, but it was air conditioned). Although today I just slobbered on the lab bench, pretty soon I'll be wielding these pipettes like Wyatt Earp at the O.K. Corral. Take ten paces, turn around, and aliquot 10 microliters of DNA faster than you can blink.
