Too early!

It is 7:30am, it is snowing out, I have to go to the doctor's office for a check-up, and this car seat is cramping my style. Could life get any worse? Good thing I've got this pink hat on to bring a little light to my day.

Grandma and Grandpa come to visit

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit from Ohio. Poor Luna got absolutely no attention whatsoever. She had to resort to leaving big dumps in her diaper in order to get noticed around here. However, Grandpa already promised Luna a pony. Hot damn!

Fun in the sun

The gnome made it safely back home. As you can tell, both Luna and The Gunth were very excited to snuggle up together - it was love at first sight. Maybe if we put some bacon grease on Luna's face we can stage some better photos.....

Homeward bound

Finally we get to head home from the hospital! Luna is excited to be off the monitors and away from the harsh glare of the bili lights (however, I think she was starting to enjoy the tanning action). The nurses here are excellent, but it will be good to be home. Time to pack up all the accumulated detritus....

Hey everybody - we are so happy to hear all of your messages. Thanks so much. Carola and Bernardo Congratulations - that is beautiful news. I have three recommendations for you: doulas are awesome, nipple cream rules, and having a truly amazing partner is the best (and I know you do:). We are here at the hospital for a couple days getting Luna's jaundice down after her head had an ouchie from a rough ride, which caused some swelling. Totally in love with our little girl and working hard to keep her fed and rested while she gets ready to go home. Love love love, Val

Luna took a little break from crying and sleeping to dazzle us with cuteness.

Ready for the Jersey shore

We are still at the hospital but everything is going well. Mom is doing just great. Luna had a bit of swelling in her head that caused her some pain, but that is slowly subsiding. She is a little jaundiced so she has to log some time on her tanning bed over the next few days, but she is handling it OK for now. I think she needs some tunes to keep her entertained on the tanning bed - maybe a little techno to get her pumped up to strut her bronzed bod on the dance floor?

The eagle has landed!

Luna Pearl Fierer has arrived!

She was born at 11:47pm on April 21st and is just about the cutest 8 lb. 8 oz. bundle you've ever seen. Here are 2 pictures of the lovely ladies taken mere minutes after delivery. All the other photos that were taken turned out blurry so you'll have to wait to see the 3 of us together.

Now mom and baby are just trying to get some sleep. I'm on the prowl for some strong coffee.....

Gestation!

A few days before the due date! Val is putting on a brave smile despite being uncomfortable. The Gunth is overwhelmed with excitement for the new arrival (you can tell because he isn't sleeping). Luna (a.k.a. 'Pea Pod') is busy kicking the uterine walls.
